Scholars Individuals who pursue careers in academia face unique challenges
in their working lives. Following years of preparation, most enter academia with a desire
to contribute significantly to a chosen field through teaching, research, and publishing,
only to meet the disappointments of too few permanent positions, taxing institutional
and departmental politics, tacit competition among colleagues, and pressure to conform
to a growing corporate culture.

 

 

 

Therapy for Scholars and Academics

Scholars often find themselves bearing heavy responsibilities,
with no job security and little compensation. Within the system,
there is no safe space where they can voice their fears and frustrations.
As a former academic and an experienced therapist, I offer this
confidential space to you—a place where you can work through
your career issues and address the effects of these stressors on
other parts of your life. Our therapy sessions will be collaborative;
nevertheless, you will decide which issues are most important for you.
